**Position Title**:Box Office Agent**Location**:Work to be completed at the Gallery 7 Theatre office and performance venues in Abbotsford, BC.**Duration**:October 17th, 2025 to May 25, 2026; extension of contract possible

**Hours**:Dependent on show schedule, with generally a 4 hour shift on show days. Total hours per shift may change from production to production.

**Salary**: $17.85 per hour, two complimentary tickets to every production

**Company Description**

Gallery 7 Theatre is passionate about creating entertaining and thought-provoking theatre that explores the spiritual, relational and social aspects of the human experience with a vision towards hope, reconciliation and redemption.

Based in Abbotsford, BC, the theatre has produced over 110 productions in over 32 years of continuous operation. Each year, the theatre produces up to five mainstage productions plus a second stage series. The theatre attracts between 6,000 and 12,000 theatre fans from across the Fraser Valley each season.

An incorporated Society and a registered Charity, the theatre is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and is run by a small staff consisting of a full-time Managing Artistic Director (MAD), a full-time Business and Operations Manager, a part-time Production Manager, a contract Marketing Associate, and a contract Bookkeeper.

As a semi-professional, community-based theatre, productions involve both contract artists and volunteer artists, technicians, front of house staff and others. Individuals from all walks of life are invited to participate in and attend our productions, regardless of background. The Society is supported by a large group of donors as well as local and regional sponsors.

Reporting directly to the Business and Operations Manager and working alongside volunteer Front of House Managers, the Box Office Agent will be responsible for the following:

- Create a welcoming, fun, and professional experience for volunteers, staff, and audiences.
- Assist patrons with ticketing and box office needs.
- Manage and conduct on-site box office sales, exchanges, donations, and will-call services before and during performances
- Act as the main staff point of contact for all box office needs for onsite volunteers and production team members during performances.
- Brief ushers on ticket scanning and scanner troubleshooting procedures.
- Assist House Managers as necessary and during emergencies.
- Perform the pre-show speech at the start of each performance.
- Make minor purchases for concessions when necessary.
- Submit receipts for reimbursement for approved expenses.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with onsite scanners and point of sales software and hardware.
- Ensure all box office and concession point of sale and cash boxes are secured following each performance.
- Submit a post-show report to the Managing Artistic Director and Business & Operations Manager following each performance.

- Able to process a variety of payment methods such as cash, cheque, debit, and credit.
- Comfortable talking to large groups of people.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
