Loans Administrator

**Position**: Loans Administrator - Full Time

**Reports to**: Director of Credit

**Location**: Main Branch - 725 Browns Line, Toronto, ON M8W 3V7

To assist the Credit department in meeting member borrowing needs for personal loans, lines of credit and mortgages, both retail and commercial. Your objective is to support the Credit Specialists in the loan process and loan reviews by efficiently handling the processing of all loan documentation.

**Primary Duties & Responsibilities**

**_ Loan Review and Processing_**
- Assess Credit Approvals to ensure that appropriate approvals have been obtained within approved lending limits and in compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, bylaws, policies and procedures.
- Review supporting documents and follow-up with Credit Specialist for any deficiencies.
- Where required open new memberships and establish supporting accounts.
- Post approved loans (new and amended) to banking system, ensuring the integrity of the system data.
- Compile the relevant documents, complete the required checklist, and prepare the credit files.
- Arrange loan disbursements and fee collection.

**_Ongoing Loan Monitoring_**
- Maintain a diary system to include:

- Daily Exposure/Delinquency Reporting for the Director of Credit or designate.
- PPSA Expiries.
- Insurance Expiries and Property Tax Confirmation.
- Annual Reviews.
- Facility Renewals.
- Assist in monitoring and actively pursue delinquent loan accounts.
- Prepare and issue notices of mortgage/LOC renewals with revised terms and update new renewal information as terms mature.
- Prepare and issue notice of annual review and request for supporting documents including financial statements, insurance renewals and tax confirmations.
- Update the Loan details on the banking system as necessary.
- Register securities and conduct searches (PPSA).
- Maintain the Credit Files, updating as required and ensuring completeness.

**_Other Responsibilities_**
- Preparation of loan discharge documents.
- Quarterly filing of insured government guarantee loans.
- Assist with monthly financial reports to management.
- Prepare mailings to loan members as required (i.e. release of collateral, paid notes, etc.).
- Manage customer Automated Funds Transfers for all lending products on banking system.
- Reconcile monthly CRM, Purview, Equifax and FCT (title insurance) billing amounts.
- Assist in the reconciliation of monthly CRM, Purview, Equifax and FCT (title insurance) billing
- Assist in the administration of commercial mortgages and syndications with Central 1.
- Any other duties that may be assigned within the scope of Loan Administration.

**_Education and Experience_**
- High school graduate, college degree preferred.
- At least two years of financial services industry experience (credit union experience preferred).

- Ability to multi-task and possess strong organizational skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to use good judgement to effectively prioritize work.

**_Impact on Decisions_**
- Attention to detail in the loans area will have a moderate to high, positive or negative impact on the credit union’s revenue, income, capital, and liquidity, and a high, positive or negative impact on the member experience. Therefore, this role carries some operational risk.

**_Nature of Supervision_**
- The position reports to the Director of Credit, under the supervision of the Credit Risk Adjudicator and dotted line reporting exists.
- The Loan Administrator will collaborate with the Credit Specialists.

**_Freedom to Act_**
- In the Loans Administrator role, the officer may take instructions from the Credit Specialist operating within the established policy and procedural framework.

**_Subordinates_**
- The role has no direct reports.
