**Overview**
The Director of Financial Planning, Analysis oversees all aspects of financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and strategic financial management at CPAIPW. This role combines strategic FP&A leadership with oversight of the accounting function, ensuring both financial insight and operational effectiveness to support CPAIPW’s growth and long-term objectives.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**1. Executive Leadership**
- As part of the leadership team, advise on long-term financial strategies, growth opportunities, risk management, and financial planning.
- Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture and holding team members accountable.
**2. Financial Planning & Analysis**
- Design and manage the financial planning process, including long-term, annual, and monthly planning cycles.
- Lead the development of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts, as well as the preparation of the monthly / quarterly / annual variance analysis to be reported back to leadership team.
- Build financial models to support data-driven decision-making, collaborating with business unit leaders on operational and project budgeting.
- Develop and manage key performance indicators and dashboards to monitor business performance and progress.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
**3. Rate Setting Modeling**
- Develop and maintain rate-setting models and guidelines based on market and consumer trends, ensuring strategic alignment with business objectives with the assistance of the Actuarial team.
- Present data-driven insights on rate-setting strategies to leadership, supporting alignment with growth initiatives.
**4. Technology Implementation & Process Optimization**
- Drive the adoption of new financial technologies and processes to enhance forecasting, reporting, and overall financial operations.
**5. Risk Management & Compliance**
- Evaluate and manage financial risks, maintaining strong internal controls and financial integrity.
- Oversee tax compliance and strategy to optimize tax planning while ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
**6. Accounting & Reporting**
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, supporting strategic decision-making with clear financial analysis.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring thorough variance analysis between budgeted and actual results.
- Lead the year-end audit, acting as the primary contact for auditors, and ensuring successful audit completion.
- Review staff accountants’ work, providing guidance and mentorship
- Oversee payroll processes and cash flow management.
**Qualifications**:
- Experience: 8+ years in finance, with progressive roles in FP&A or strategic finance and experience in accounting functions; strong understanding of both budgeting and strategic analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation or equivalent preferred.
- Advanced skills in financial modeling and Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software and BI tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Dext, Wagepoint).
- Strong analytical skills with a track record of identifying improvements, drawing actionable insights from data, and supporting operational decisions.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively; experience mentoring and managing finance teams.
- Ability to deliver insights through written and verbal presentations to senior leadership and the Board.
