Technical Support Analyst

The Technical Support Analyst’s role is to support and maintain organizational computer systems, desktops, laptops, MacBooks, and peripherals. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and organizational desktop hardware. The technician will also troubleshoot problem areas (in person, by telephone, or remotely) in a timely fashion, and provide end-user assistance where required. Work directly with sales vendors to obtain price quotes for various hardware and software and use the hospital’s Oracle iProcurement system, to create and submit requisitions.
**Some of the responsibilities**:
- Provide professional technical support (by telephone, remotely, and on-site) to all users.
- Set up new computers, laptops, and MacBooks as well as install new peripherals.
- Troubleshoot and repair desktops, laptops, mac computers, and peripherals including items such as network printers.
- Troubleshoot, recommend, and deploy upgrades of computer hardware, drivers, firmware, Windows updates, Apple updates, and other software updates.
- Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future organizational hardware and software needs.
**_ Work Conditions:_**
- Sitting, standing, or walking for extended periods of time.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and other computer components.
- Lifting and transporting moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
- Intercity travel is required for the purpose of on-site hardware and software troubleshooting and repair at the General, Civic, and Riverside campuses.
**Basic Requirements (Education/Experience)**:
- Completion of a college diploma, undergraduate degree, or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Minimum one year of experience in a computer technical environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office365.
- Know the basic principles of networking, network printers, and printing.
- Team player with a demonstrated commitment to service excellence.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal or no supervision.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- High levels of experience with macOS including creating new local users, configuring network printers, installing software, and troubleshooting issues such as the Internet, sound, video, etc.
- Experience with Microsoft Teams, ServiceNow, Microsoft Office 365, SCCM, and TeamViewer.
- Proficiency in English and French
**Contract Details**:
This is a full-time, 1 - year contract position with the opportunity for renewal.
**Salary**: Min: $27.482/hr. - Max: $35.588/hr.
