This position represents a unique opportunity for an accomplished accountant who possesses a strong motivation to cultivate an accounting proficiency within the not-for-profit and charity sector. Our team is expanding and comprises more than twenty members; thus, this role may be performed from either of our offices located in Burnaby (in proximity to Metrotown) or Langley (in Walnut Grove).

**The responsibilities associated with this role include the following**:

- Collaborating directly with clients to plan, execute, and finalize assurance engagements.
- Assisting clients with compliance projects and reporting in accordance with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and other regulatory requirements.
- Training and mentoring audit teams across various technical aspects of engagements.
- Supporting senior managers in the annual updates to accounting practices.
- Cultivating ongoing relationships with a portfolio of not-for-profit and charity clients.

**The prerequisites for this role include**:

- A demonstrated interest in the not-for-profit and charity sector.
- A valid Canadian CPA designation (CPA, CA, CGA, or CMA).
- A minimum of four years of experience in a professional accounting firm, with a significant proportion of that time dedicated to assurance (review or audit) work.
- Familiarity with the Accounting Standards for Not-for-Profit Organizations (ASNPO) or the Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE).
- Proficient command of the English language, in both oral and written communication.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with prior experience in customer-facing roles strongly preferred.
- A solid understanding of technology and the capability to learn new software programs efficiently.

Pay: $100,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
