- We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team in Langley, BC.

- 12 MONTHS._
- Reporting to the Manager, Quality Assurance, you will contribute to the success of the Save-On-Foods banner and other Pattison Food Group banners as required.
- You will be responsible for:

- Ensuring Save-On-Foods operating practices comply with all laws and regulations applicable to food safety.
- Acting as a Subject Matter Expert on food safety and quality requirements and providing direction to Save-On-Foods management.
- Working closely with merchandise teams on in-store program development; conduct technical and risk-based reviews to ensure all food safety and quality aspects have been considered for new developments.
- Developing, submitting, and maintaining corporate food safety plans, sanitation plans, and store standard operating procedures.
- Coordinating lab testing for shelf life, food safety, food quality, or nutritional analysis as needed.
- Leading product complaint investigation and resolution; follow up on corrective actions.
- Conducting sensory evaluations to validate product attributes and report results to make recommendations to business team.
- Performing first production run checks.
- Remaining up to date on food safety and quality trends, issues, and initiatives in the food industry.
- Ensuring safety and quality standards for new and existing products.
- You have:

- Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Food Science or other relevant discipline
- 3-5 years of experience in food safety auditing, manufacturing, regulatory/compliance or other relevant experience
- Thorough and in-depth understanding of HACCP, ISO 22000, CFIA Regulations, Provincial food premise regulations, GFSI considered an asset
- Solid Understanding of the retail environment and its challenges
- You are:

- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Certified FoodSafe Instructor considered an asset
- HACCP cartification
- Excellent communication (both written and verbal), public speaking and interpersonal skills
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Excellent presentation and report writing skills
