To continue to support the work that we do, the Agency is looking for a full-time Legal Counsel to join our team.

Reporting to the Legal Services Director, the Legal Counsel is responsible for providing comprehensive legal representation, consultation/advice, and training for the Agency and its staff in all matters related to the execution of its mandate under the _Child, Youth and Family Services Act _and in accordance with the _Family Law Rules_.

Legal Counsel will be responsible for drafting pleadings, case briefs, consents, facta for Court filing; conduct litigation at all levels of courts and tribunals; provide continuing legal education to staff; participate in the management team of the Agency; and provide legal representation before the ‘Child Family Services Review Board’.

Counsel should also be versed in non-litigious options including IADR, ODR, and other forms of dispute resolution.

**Knowledge & Skills Required**:

- LLB/JD from recognized university; experience in family law, including child protection litigation.
- Membership in good standing in the Law Society of Upper Canada.
- Strong oral communication and written skills.
- 3-5 years’ experience in family law, child representation, child protection, working with youth
- The applicant should also possess demonstrable ability and willingness to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Possess strong decision making, communication and time management skills.

**Salary Range**:
$93,326.36 - $117,523.73 per annum
