**About The Opportunity**

Beta Calco is seeking a dynamic CFO to assist the CEO in continuing to scale the business.
- Regular reporting regarding the company’s fiscal performance, current and outlook to meet operational and financial budgets and objectives
- Collect and analyze cost data versus budget for ascertaining financial performance and risk assessment
- Manage budget and controls expenses
- Prepare reports and evaluations for individual projects
- Develop, monitor and enforce policies and procedures relevant to accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and project tracking
- Communicate and collaborate with departmental leaders to stay abreast of spending, budgeting, reports, and evaluation
- Monitor legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures applicable to financial reporting and operations
- Lead and supervise finance department staff on accounting, reporting, internal controls, budgeting, and other financial matters
- Investigate variances in budgets, reporting, internal controls, and general accounting; deploy measures to resolve variances
- Hire, train, develop and appraise staff
- Leading financial management and developing relevant finance strategies, policies and programs
- Overseeing the preparation financial statements and schedules for audit while supporting external, internal and funder audits
- Managing reporting activities, ensuring that all reporting is compliant with regulations
- Create and oversee annual budgets and forecasts and ensuring that budget performance is monitored across the organization
- Leading the organization’s risk management function
- Leading the development of strategies, policies and programs to optimize the appropriate investment of the organization’s assets
- Further build, structure, and oversee the finance function, leading the team in a hands-on capacity as well as contributing strategic guidance and vision to the executive leadership team
- Responsible for all financial and management reporting, analysis and ad hoc requests for the leadership team and Board
- Partner with the operations and sales teams establishing KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics, developing improved processes to access this information in a ‘live’ fashion, providing valuable business intelligence insights internally as well as to the customer base
- Develop strong and reliable budgets and forecasts, including WIP and cash-flow forecasts
- Architect workflows and map out processes to standardize and improve on current commercial processes, including around sales backlog reporting, customer deposit oversight, monthly WIP and Raw Materials accounting, among others
- Responsible for audit coordination and related efforts for financial statement audits, internal control audits, and compliance reviews
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external accountants for the preparation of annual financial statements, tax returns and other filings, SRED claims, and the deepening of banking relationships
- Take ownership of treasury functions, including foreign exchange, cross border multi-currency processes, and hedging responsibilities
- Partner with operations to analyze costing systems, build accurate models, monitor pricing, and review contracts
- Build relationships across the organization demonstrating value and enabling change

**Education**:

- Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Canada
- University Degree - major in finance and management

**Experience**:

- Accounting and Auditing
- Mergers and Acquisitions a benefit
- Proven track record managing Canadian or US staff
