Opening Summer 2025, **Squamish Canyon**will offer a breathtaking canyon walkway and immersive forest experience that redefines adventure in the Sea to Sky Corridor. As we prepare to welcome our first guests, we are building a team of passionate individuals ready to deliver exceptional service at every touchpoint.

We are currently seeking an experienced and guest-focused Lead Barista to join our opening team and help shape a best-in-class beverage program that complements the awe-inspiring nature of Squamish Canyon.

**About the Role**

We’re looking for a hybrid Baker / Barista / Opener to join us at Squamish Canyon.

This is a morning role—early shifts, early outs. Ideal for someone who knows their way around both coffee and baked goods and likes to start their day ahead of the curve.

Key Responsibilities:

- Execute morning bake off and basic pastry finishings
- Open café and prep coffee station
- Serve guests and help build a welcoming vibe
- Basic service support and some prep as needed

**Key Responsibilities**

Guest Experience & Coffee Service
- Deliver outstanding hospitality with professionalism, friendliness, and genuine enthusiasm.
- Craft consistently excellent coffee and beverage offerings using manual and automated espresso equipment.
- Educate guests on our coffee offerings and provide thoughtful recommendations to enhance the experience.

Café Operations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace throughout each shift.
- Ensure daily station setup and breakdown are completed with care and consistency.
- Assist with ordering, inventory tracking, and restocking of coffee and café supplies.
- Accurately operate the Point-of-Sale (POS) system and support daily cash handling and reconciliation.

**Qualifications**
- Proven barista experience (minimum 1-2 years) in a fast-paced specialty coffee or café environment.
- Confident and approachable, with a natural ability to connect with guests and teammates.
- Strong technical coffee knowledge, including espresso dialing, milk steaming, and basic maintenance.
- Comfortable working independently and as a leader within a collaborative team.
- Excellent communication skills and a passion for elevating the guest experience.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift up to 50 pounds.

**Asset Qualifications (Preferred but Not Required)**
- Leadership or supervisory experience in a café or hospitality setting.
- Familiarity with preventative maintenance of coffee equipment.
- FOODSAFE Level 1 and Serving It Right certifications.
- Basic First Aid (OFA Level 1) certification.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Proficiency in a second language.

**Work Conditions**
- Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, and early morning shifts.
- Comfortable working in a high-volume environment with changing weather and guest flow.
- Primarily indoor café work, with occasional crossover to outdoor event support.
