**INSTITUTIONAL RESEARCH ANALYST**
**RESEARCH AND ACADEMIC INNOVATION**

Reporting to the Manager, Institutional Research, the Institutional Research Analyst coordinates, plans and executes the research activities associated with the Institutional Research Unit. The IR Analyst is responsible for identifying, coordinating, processing, and delivering comprehensive and timely information to internal College stakeholders to support informed decision making and planning. This role facilitates the research efforts of internal and external (support for contacts negotiated by the College’s Business Development Unit) clients by providing advice or guidance, or by undertaking the research on behalf of the client. The Institutional Research Analyst works collaboratively and provides guidance and leadership to Institutional Research colleagues and project stakeholders.
**HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE**
- Act as expert resource on survey software (Qualtrics) and account administration.
- Develop research frameworks to support all data, information, and reporting requirements of the College and for internal and external clients.
- Collects, processes, and analyzes qualitative data using Excel, Word, and NVivo and quantitative data using Excel and SPSS.
- Develops and updates process manuals relating to Institutional Research and Survey Research to ensure quality processes and support succession planning.
- Develops and updates policies and procedures relating to Institutional Research and Survey Research according to internal procedures.
- Liaise with external stakeholders, networks, and service providers to support data collection and reporting requirements.
- Evaluates all research requests, formulates and coordinates plans to best meet the needs of the clients within the capacity constraints of the unit and budget constraints of the client.
- Provides consultation and support for internal clients in all other research and data collection initiatives in any or all stages of the research process as determined by the client’s needs and unit’s capacity.
- Researches, develops, and implements best practices in supporting research (market research, competitor analysis, viability reviews, etc.) for new and renewed program development, and for program (annual and comprehensive) reviews.
- Develops, maintain sand refines a College-wide process of planning and evaluation for service and support departments to ensure quality improvement and address external accreditation and accountability requirements.
- Develops/Designs analytical protocols, processes, and templates for obtaining and reporting on specific and identified metrics relating to new and renewed programs and program reviews (evaluation) including annual reviews, viability reviews, and detailed visioning and reviews.
- Support the process of program renewal and improvement by providing timely and accurate information and analysis of program performance (enrolment reports, program performance database, program evaluations, graduate, and satisfaction surveys, etc.).
- Supervises and mentors the Institutional Research assistants or casual analysts.
- Maintains an awareness of current trends, developments, and techniques in the institutional research field.
**WHAT YOU BRING**
- Related undergraduate degree in social sciences (course work must include research methods and statistics).
- Experience in the educational sector an asset.
- 3+ years’ research (quantitative and qualitative) experience, preferably evaluation research, including instrument design, data analysis, interpretation, and report writing.
- 2+ years’ project management experience with the ability to manage a variety of concurrent projects.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, graphing, database, and statistical packages: MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio), SPSS, NVivo, Adobe, Qualtrics.

- A combination of analytical ability and inductive skills (especially in relation to environmental scanning and the incorporation into research reports of other sources of evidence).
- Flexibility with a willingness and ability to accommodate and adjust to differing situations and requirements.
