This position is part of the Education Insights, Data & Research team. The team is responsible for providing information to support strategic decision-making for business partners in the education portfolio. Team members have strong skills and solid experience in the collection, analysis and reporting of qualitative and quantitative data. As a key partner team in the education portfolio, this team advances a data-informed culture and evidence-based decision-making through collaborative partnerships. Policy and Strategy Insights Position Reporting to the Research Specialist, Policy and Strategy Insights, the Research Analyst contributes to institutional research and analysis to assess the impact of existing policies and strategies. Key Responsibilities: Provide research and data-driven insights to contribute to enrolment initiativesProvide analytical support for institutional research and institutional policymakingCollect, organize, and interpret complex data sets to inform policy and strategy decisionsSupport the scripting of analytical programs to automate statistical analyses; troubleshoot errors and recommend innovative solutionsSupport stakeholder engagement, gather and implement feedback on analytical methods and reportsStay abreast of industry trends, statistical methods, and new software Skills & Abilities: Ability to work independently and within a teamStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAdvanced quantitative and analytical skills with an aptitude for deriving insightful summaries from large data setsAbility to explain analytical concepts to individuals with varying analytical backgroundsAbility to exercise sound judgement, critical thinking, and decision makingProficient in R and Python for analysis and modeling, with experience in SQL for data extractionComfortable navigating ambiguity and proactively identifying solutionsExperience in modelling complex data sets and environmentsExperience working in post-secondary education is considered an assetExperience implementing change and developing new procedures is considered an assetFamiliarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) is considered an asset Qualifications: A graduate degree in a quantitative field or an undergraduate degree and a minimum of 4 years of experience in a related quantitative role. Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services (WES), International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) or the Comparative Education Services (CES).
