About your team

The main role of the WI Pensions Operations Technical Team is to ensure that the Operations and Client Service teams follow established procedures and legal requirements so that consistent and good customer outcomes are achieved for members and clients of Fidelity’s pension businesses.

About your role
- You will be a key member of the WI Pensions Technical acting as a point of escalation for technical queries.
- You will have a sound knowledge of pensions legislation and guidance and will be responsible for ensuring the business has the appropriate level of technical and compliance oversight in relation to DC pension schemes and support the business to ensure it operates in a fully compliant manner, with appropriate processes and controls.
- You will be supporting operations for technical queries and work effectively with all internal and external stakeholders and will require strong communication skills.
- Your role has a wide scope of responsibilities and requires a detailed understanding of Fidelity pension products, with a clear understanding of how to manage and mitigate key business risks.

About you

Key Responsibilities
- You will be expected to maintain a technical oversight ensuring processes, procedures and letters adhere to regulatory and business requirements.
- You will be providing pensions technical support to the business, identifying and closing knowledge gaps within the teams.
- You will be expected to impart technical knowledge and answer complex queries, in a constructive way that ensures the receiver understands what is being explained.
- You will be expected to work on your own initiative, prioritising and organising yourself appropriately, and always comply with Company procedures.
- You will be expected to provide and collate information for regulatory reporting.
- A ‘can do’ attitude should be reflected in pro-active internal problem resolution and progress chasing. Adopt a proactive approach to internal relationships with an analytical, enquiring mind and a willingness to learn.

Experience and Qualifications Required
- Excellent knowledge of DC Pensions Administration with comprehensive experience in a specialist pensions technical capacity
- Excellent knowledge of HMRC, FCA and TPR rules which govern pensions
- Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal
- Accuracy and attention to detail are essential, with strong analytical skills and ability to identify potential risks
- Self-starter, demonstrating a good use of initiative and ability to work independently
- Strong time management, prioritisation and organisational skills
- The ability to complete multiple tasks against tight deadlines is paramount for this role
- Flexible and adaptable, responds rapidly to changing agendas
- Training experience on a one-to-one or small group basis would be desirable
- Decision maker - problem solving and solution orientated
- The ability to question internal processes and guide improvement.
