The mission of the department is to cultivate human potential and well-being through recreation and sport. The operating units of the department include interuniversity athletics, recreation, and sport medicine. **Job Summary**: Responsible for the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of a broad range of athlete support services provided to interuniversity athletes. Provides expertise in developing and implementing services and initiatives, and serves as a program resource to faculty, staff and students. Assists in the day-to-day administrative operations of the department. **Purpose and Key Functions**: In collaboration with interuniversity coaches, develop processes and protocols for the recruitment of student athletes. Track recruits through admission cycle and provide updates to coaches. Deliver information to prospective applicants and parents as a means to promote the various faculties and specific programs. Meet with recruits and their parents to provide information on admission requirements. Plan and coordinate a variety of events and activities such as campus tours, athlete orientation sessions, and interviews with admissions representatives. Attend and represent the University at recruitment events. Track athletes' academic performance throughout the year and advise coaches when athletes grade drop below baseline levels. Develop and coordinate academic support resources to student-athletes (advising, mentoring and tutoring). Provide USPORTS, OUA and Faculty rules interpretations to A&R staff, coaches and student-athletes. Understand governance procedures, policy development and the judicial processes that govern interuniversity sport policies. Conduct training sessions for coaches and develop recruiting tool kits. Conduct reviews and evaluations of students' academic records. Refer students to appropriate resources, information and services across the University. Develop print and web-based promotional materials. Develop the academic support program budget for review and approval. Ensure the confidentiality and safeguarding of student files. Schedule, plan and coordinate the delivery of annual special events (Athletic Awards, Marauder Scholar and Student-Athlete Orientation). Calculate and monitor changes to student registration as well as payments and overpayments and determine student eligibility of athletic financial awards. Coordinate, award and disburse athletic scholarships to identified recipients. Gather protocols and procedures from other programs to follow industry trends related to standards of care and programming. Liaise with coaches regarding athletic financial awards offers, offer agreements, timelines and renewal offers. Create and maintain institutional compliance of USPORTS and OUA policies, including eligibility, recruiting, athletic financial awards, out of season competitions Remain current with frequent changes in all academic areas, programs, admission policies and procedures, electronic media and social networking Meet with and respond to prospective students. Create spreadsheets to track financial information, including athletic scholarships. Provide institutional signatures.
