- Exceptional, standardized care for a diverse range of research animals
- Oversight of animal-based research activities and spaces at Western and city-wide affiliates
- Monitoring and adhering to animal use protocols and quality assurance/care programs in close collaboration with the University’s Animal Care Committee
- Ensuring the highest-quality animal health monitoring and health status that align with guidelines of provincial and national regulatory bodies
- Supporting the University’s research community with animal model development, training, and specialized animal research support

Western University is seeking a **University Veterinarian** to lead our Animal Care and Veterinary Services. As a visionary leader, the University Veterinarian will provide high-quality animal health and welfare through our state-of-the-art facilities and team of dedicated professionals, while ensuring protocols and processes are managed appropriately. The University Veterinarian will develop and nurture relationships both internally and externally to identify opportunities to deliver and enhance services and optimize resources, leading to excellence in animal care and veterinary services which support enhanced research success for animal-based scientists at Western and the city-wide affiliate research community.
