Edge Transportation specializes in flat deck, heavy haul & over-dimensional freight service throughout North America. From full truckload to less-than-truckload needs, experienced operators ensure secure and efficient transport.
In addition, we offer Drayage service which refers to a specialty logistics service that carries freight containers over a short distance, an essential part of intermodal shipping.
We take containers in and out of warehouses, rail terminals, ocean ports and harbors. This often involves taking huge steal shipping containers off rail cars and ship decks and then loading them onto truck trailers. From there, the container is transported to a warehouse or storage facility to get ready for the next step in the intermodal shipping process. Drayage is part of a larger logistics process.

Edge Transport is growing and currently recruiting for an experienced local class 1 driver with forklift operator experience for their Edmonton location. Are you tired of being a way from home as a commercial driver, and looking to spend more time with family? This could be the fit for you.....

This is a Monday to Friday with the position starting at 6 am or as the business dictates.

**Scope**:

- Deliver material locally
- Forklift operation to accept, count and unload material from inbound trailers.
- Load outbound material from the staging areas or trailers to the outbound trailers.
- Shipping and receiving material along with required accurate documentation.
- Load all materials into/onto trailers using proper load securement principles to prevent damage in transit.
- Actively promote health and safety through participation and leadership in Edge Transport Health and Safety Program and Policies.
- Safe operation of all equipment.

**What You Bring**:

- Class 1A Driver’s License - Minimum 2 year highway driving experience required
- 1 year flat/step deck experience required
- 1 year container experience required
- Ability to depart at 6:00 am every morning on shift
- A clean driver’s abstract with no suspensions
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Minimum 3 yrs experience in warehouse (receiving or materials management) required
- Experience in using MS Office (Strong excel skills) required
- Forklift experience 3 yrs (gas, diesel and/or electric powered) up to 10,000 lbs required
- Strong attention to detail, follow through skills and organized
- Flexibility to multitask, and cross-train within the department
- Able to meet deadline and work in a team environment
- All applicants will adhere to a criminal record search, drug and alcohol screen_
