Victoria, Canada Building Bridges Community Support Full time

Building Bridges Community Support is looking for a home share coordinator. We currently have 5 home share families, but the caseload can go up to 25 families as we continue to grow. The home share coordinator has an average of 20 hr/wk of home share duties. This will increase as more home share providers come onboard.

**Some experience working with people with substance use dependency.**

Proactively recruit potential home share providers to ensure a sufficient availability of placements for incoming referrals.
- Manage the screening and selection process for applicants to become home share providers in consultation with the Director.
- Oversee a caseload of current home share providers, ensuring compliance with CLBC home sharing standards and BBCS Policies and Procedures.
- Build and maintain professional relationships to collaborate effectively with families, support networks, professionals, and community members.
- Schedule and implement quarterly monitoring visits with the home share providers and the individuals in their homes.
- Maintain organized, detailed, and confidential records in a database system, utilizing clear, professional, and objective language about the home share providers and the individuals in the homes.
- Ensure that all documentation related to the home share providers are maintained and updated as required.
- Serve as a resource for individuals and home share providers, offering support and assistance with problem-solving.
- Demonstrate proficiency in positive behavioral support techniques and assist home share providers in their implementation.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with individuals, home share providers, co-workers, families, and other professionals.
- Work independently and as a team member to achieve service objectives. Consult with other organizations/agencies to provide input and develop resources for the Home Share service.
- Communicate regularly and accurately with the Director. Represent BBCS in the Home Share Coordinator Interagency Committee
- Actively contribute to the maintenance of accreditation standards in home share and the agency as a whole Attend meetings as required.
- Travel to home share providers’ homes within the community using a personal vehicle.

**Qualifications**:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with individuals with diverse abilities with at least 1 year working in home share
- Community Living Home Study Certification for Shared Living (adults) **Successful criminal record check**:

- Up to date non-violent crisis intervention certificate **Up to date first aid** Strong technical skills: Ability to use Word Processor (Word, Excel) and databases to record data and produce reports
- Valid Unrestricted Class 5 BC Driver’s license Driver’s abstract
- Your own reliable vehicle
- Business insurance for vehicle, including $3,000,000 third party liability

- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills, with a high level of personal integrity, initiative, and maturity.
- Experience and proven ability in complex case management.

- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and use a personal vehicle for home visits and other related duties.
- Ability to work as a member of the team as well as being able to work independently

- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to use a personal vehicle for work-related travel.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $23.00-$24.25 per hour
