**The opportunity**:
The Regional Manager will oversee IYMP daily operations across Manitoba, secure sustainable core funding and manage financial resources and assets wisely and with integrity, supervise and mentor Indigenous staff, participate in national IYMP planning and activities, and maintain program fidelity during periods of program expansion. This position will build and strengthen respectful and reciprocal relationships with school and community partners, provide culturally appropriate mentorship and training for program staff, lead provincial strategic and operational planning, and maintain strong relationships with rural/northern communities.

**The qualifications and experience we’re looking for**:

- Undergraduate Bachelor’s degree required (Indigenous education, community development, and/or business management preferred).
- Management training or certification is an asset.
- Two years experience in supervising and mentoring Indigenous youth and young adults in a middle or senior management role is required.
- A minimum of two years work experience working with Indigenous communities and demonstrated understanding of impact of colonization, racism, geography, and poverty on social determinants of health.
- Knowledge of and sensitivity around cultural protocols required.
- Financial/budget management experience is required.
- Strong long-term relationships with Indigenous communities and organizations in Winnipeg is required.
- Strong long-term relationships with Indigenous communities and organizations central and northern Manitoba is preferred.
- Experience leading groups to achieve varied goals and tasks is required.
- Knowledge and experience of the Indigenous Youth Mentorship Program is a definite asset.
- Experience in university, community, government, Indigenous administration working on some combination of project management, communications, event planning, advocacy, community relations, or program development.
- Experience in relationship building with various stakeholders to develop new initiatives and partnerships is required.
- Experience in building strategic partnerships with external stakeholders.
- Experience with staff hiring, onboarding, and training is required.
- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated ability to work with news media is desirable.
- Excellent communications skills (verbal and written) and ability to communicate in an articulate, knowledgeable, and diplomatic manner is required.
- Cultural competency and understanding of Indigenous organizations, northern life, intercultural power dynamics, mediation, and team building is required.
- Proficiency in using advanced features associated with Microsoft Office required.
- Financial management, budgeting, proposal writing, and organizational/operational management is required.
- Supervisory and leadership/mentorship experience, particularly with Indigenous youth and marginalized groups is required.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, coordinate, and establish work priorities and deadlines is a complex and fast-paced work environment is required.
- Ability to make sound independent judgments and utilize problem solving abilities required.
- Ability to create and manage schedules for programs, facilities, and staff required.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise the work of other employees is required.
- Ability to independently make decisions in a timely fashion is required.
- Ability to handle and manage stress quickly and positively is required.
- Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
- A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle is required.
- Must be physically capable of performing duties as assigned, including driving and standing for lengthy periods and lifting display units and boxes weighing up to 15 kg.
- Knowledge of University policies, purchasing, and accounting is desirable.
- The ability to speak an Indigenous language is an asset.
