Toyotetsu Canada Inc. (TTCA) is a Tier 1 Automotive Parts Supplier to Toyota Manufacturing Facilities located in the heart of Norfolk County. We utilize state of the art technology to ensure our automotive parts are assembled with a high degree of quality.
**Job Summary**:
The Accounting Specialist works within the accounting department to perform daily accounts payable and general accounting activities. This person requires strong organizational skills and high attention to detail to ensure deadlines are met. This role requires strong communication skills to facilitate discussions within the department as well as multiple other departments.
**Responsibilities include, but not limited to**:
- Daily Accounting tasks include but are not limited to printing invoices, matching, vouchers, entering, scanning, filing, updating excel worksheets, recording of fixed assets auditing and review.
- Update reports and other records and review for accuracy
- Prepare and analyze account reconciliations as required.
- Month-end tasks - support closing procedures as required
- Preparation of monthly journal entries as required
- Support of monthly cheque run preparation
- Maintain documentation for compliance to policies and procedures for internal audits
- Cross Training with other roles in the department for coverage
- Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
**Key skills and Characteristics**:
- Efficient, organized, and able to produce high quality work under pressure and in a timely fashion
- Able to process a large volume of paperwork
- Strong work ethic and sense of responsibility and confidentiality
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a wide range of office/plant team members
- High attention to detail, accuracy
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
**Education/Experience Desired**:
- College diploma in accounting and/or equivalent education and experience
- Minimum 2+ years of accounting experience preferable in the manufacturing field
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office
- Knowledge of AS400 or Plex is an asset
