A hazmat foreman is the person who at any one time ensures that the crew on site is carrying out their tasks well and everything is going according to plan.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Checking daily with Dispatch/Superintendent for schedule I give job update.
- Ensuring workers are fit, ready, and able to perform their duties
- Ensuring company rules are posted and are followed by crew
- Review and sign off on site documentation
- Hold the daily toolbox meeting
- Assessing job priorities and assigning workers to appropriate tasks
- Performing abatement work as required
- Evaluate and setting daily project goals giving clear directions to workers as to what needs to be done to avoid repetitive mistakes
- Making sure employees have tools and equipment needed for job in order to ensure a good output.
- Perform orientation and training of employees and working with them in containment to learn new tasks.
- Overseeing the work and making sure it runs smoothly and as per the plan and regulations
- Making sure safety precautions are followed including respirator fit testing, monitoring worker activities for breeches of protocol, updating first aid kits
- Communicating with the Superintendent/Training & Development regarding the crew both positive and negative feedback
- Make sure jobs are completed on time, on budget, and to industry standards
- Liaising with the owners, occupants, consultants, project managers, and public to ensure correct information is communicated
- The foreman should ensure all tools such as airless sprayers, ladders, vacuums, and negative air machines are brought back from job sites clean( inside & outside)
- Communicating to dispatch the need for supplies before 2:00PM
- Vehicle and site inventory control

**SKILLS AND SPECIFICATIONS**
The experience of a foreman is crucial in their ability to execute a project. Apart from many years' experience a foreman should also:

- Display competency and understand industry and government regulations
- Good people skills - interpersonal competencies
- High level of communication skills
- Good time management skills

**EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS**
- WorkSafeBC Level 1, 2 & 3
- High School Diploma or GED
- Fall Protection Certificate
- Hold a valid class 5 license
- Confined Space - Supervisor Certificate
- Valid first-aid certificate
- WHMIS training
- Industry Certification
- Arial Platform Certificate
- Excellence in Safety Certification

**Salary**: $32.67-$36.00 per hour
