**Accessing Opportunities at Côté Gold**

**Core Cutting Technician - (6 Month Fixed Term Contract)**

The** Core Cutting Technician** assists with and performs field/core shack related activities pertaining to the safe and efficient execution of an Exploration Drill campaign.

**Key Responsibilities**

Area 1:
Assist and provide support to the Côté Gold geological team.
- Receive, organize, and prepare drill core boxes for cutting.
- Cut core samples in half with a wet saw for further examination and obey operating guidelines for all equipment used in this process.
- Organize and orient core in boxes prior to cutting to preserve geological context.
- Minimize sample loss and contamination during cutting.
- Label and bag core samples for shipment to assay labs.
- Maintain and clean core cutting equipment and work area.
- Record daily progress and report any issues to supervisors.
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental protocols, including use of PPE.
- Assist with stacking/unstacking core boxes and general core shack duties.

- Ensure problems and inefficiencies are shared with others.
- Work collaboratively to troubleshoot and resolve problems.

Qualifications

**Minimum Requirements and Nice To Haves**

minimum qualifications, formal education, certifications or equivalents
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Registration in a geology / geological engineering program at university or college is considered an asset.

Work experience - Nature & Length
- A minimum of 3 months of related work experience is an asset.
- Previous experience in mineral exploration is considered an asset.

Additional qualifications - Competency requirements
- Ability to adapt to changing environmental conditions, such as cold, snow, rain, heat, etc.
- Ability to operate a telehandler.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20kg (44lbs).
- Basic computer skills.
- Good observational and analytical skills.
- Good written and oral communication.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Standard First and CPR certification is considered an asset.
- Surface Miner Common Core is considered an asset.
