**The Opportunity**

**We are looking for an AVP, Governance & Control to join our Global Wealth & Asset Management team**

The AVP, Governance & Control is a key member of our day to day Operations leadership team as this function provides expertise in risk governance for various operational processes, including anti-fraud, regulatory controls, access security, audits, risk event mitigation, BCP, and Ops accounting.

**Responsibilities**
- Own and lead the risk & control agenda and priorities across Global Retirement, translating Global Ops priorities into actionable initiatives
- Be the Ops ambassador and key relationship contact for the Ops Retirement Leadership teams from a Risk & Control perspective
- Be the Ops thought leader and partner with our risk and control functional partners to determine the best path forward to continually evolve and innovate our risk & control environment
- Owns and leads the risk governance & control agenda and priorities across Global Retirement, ensuring that Retirement Ops is aligned to both the functional and business risk appetite
- Responsibility for co-owning, with the process owners, ensuring critical business processes and operational controls are identified and tested periodically under applicable stress scenarios.
- Communicates/presents consolidated key insights to Senior Management audiences that assist in the understanding of overall health and performance of the strategic function from a governance & control perspective, and any required actions or decisions.
- Engages teams in transparent discussions about progress against critical metrics, risk and control functions
- Brings sophisticated simplicity to relay information in a compelling and persuasive manner Proposes alternative views, based off facts, that may challenge convention
- Strong verbal, written and presentation skills, ability to influence business partners and motivate teams at varying levels of the organization rallying teams around common goals and objectives.
- Demonstrates critical thinking skills and is able to translate strategic objectives into action-oriented plans.
- Manages high volumes of diverse information; has the ability to step back, gain perspective and interpret data objectively
- Maintains high employee engagement throughout a transformation of the function

**How will you create impact?
Each of our operations leaders are process owners and have the accountability for their functions, and so this AVP role is a Line 1B in the three lines of defense model. The AVP, Governance & Control reports directly to the Global Head of Retirement Operations and functionally to the Head of Risk & Controls, Global Operations.

Our Global Retirement Operations team services over 200K plans, approx. 7.5 million participants, and processes over 8 million transactions. This role is key and provides leadership on the following:
**1. Anti-Fraud Ops and Regulatory Control**
- Regulatory control and governance to ensure regulatory obligations met
- Anti-fraud detection controls
- Remediate victims of fraud

**2. Risk & Control Governance**
- Risk consultation on effective control design
- Internal and SOC1/3416 audit support
- Reporting and reportable events and CAP governance
- Access security
- Innovation & transformation of Risk & Control framework
- Ops accounting
- Business Continuity Planning (BCP)

**What we are looking for**
- An accomplished people leader who is known to motivate and inspire teams and build talent pipelines
- At least 10 years of related business experience in process improvement, governance, and/or control related functions
- A strong background in global operations leadership
- High level of discernment, analytical skills, and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills needed to effectively build relationships and connect with executives and internal partners
- Ability to work effectively within a matrixed, geographically dispersed team, using knowledge acquired across the organization and within a global workforce
