**EDI Strategic Advisor**

Position Summary

The EDI Strategic Advisor will be the key resource for the development of the College’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy and resulting action plans encompassing the College’s regulatory programs, policy, and governance portfolios. Reporting to the Manager EDI, the EDI Strategic Advisor is responsible for conducting research, analyzing, and developing policy documents, and leading the design and implementation of action plans to meet strategic objectives.

What you’ll do at OCP
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of an EDI Action Plan for assessing and addressing gaps and systemic barriers that may exist within the College’s corporate, governance, and regulatory activities.
- Consult with experts, key opinion leaders as well as provide their own expert advice to make recommendations to the College on matters of policy and practice concerning EDI
- Proactively monitor and analyze equity, diversity and inclusion work in the health care and regulatory environment along with other institutions to report on key issues and trends with a view of identifying EDI promising practices that can be incorporated into policies and programs.
- Develop, implement, and support processes for consulting with and engaging registrants and other external stakeholders in the development and implementation of EDI policies and programs.
- Works closely with the EDI Manager, the executive team, and other departments to ensure EDI policies and programs are effectively integrated with other related strategic priorities and initiatives of the College.
- Lead the development of EDI policies, regulation changes, and strategic initiatives by conducting research, managing, and engaging with stakeholders, planning and overseeing the consultation process, proactively monitoring and providing guidance on issues.
- Undertake all aspects of policy planning and development, including analysis of trends and directions, evaluation of existing services/programs and delivery models, issue identification, analysis and synthesis of research and related evaluation materials, stakeholder consultations, planning for implementation and system outcomes/indicators.
- Identifies and recommends training that builds capacity and understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion, and indigenous cultural competency.
- Lead the development of policy position papers, policy recommendations and responses to requests from government and external stakeholders.
- Effective project management of assigned strategic initiatives and policy portfolios
- Draft and present briefing materials for project teams, working/advisory groups, senior leadership, committees, and the Board.
- Review reports and analysis and present findings to the EDI Manager, management, and senior leadership, and make recommendations, where appropriate.
- Continually examine work process and explore opportunities for improving efficiencies through technology, elimination or altering of work processes and make recommendations to the EDI Manager.
- Work within records management principles and guidelines for record keeping.
- Other reasonable duties as assigned by the EDI Manager.

- Lead and manage cross-organizational projects and initiatives within specified time frame
- Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
- Ability to identify, develop and analyze policy positions
- Conduct research and critically analyze information to guide the development of equity, diversity and inclusion policy areas.
- Utilize data and evaluation methods to analyze and develop equity, diversity and inclusion policy and strategic initiatives
- Independently establish and maintain networks within and outside the College.
- Effective relationship building, including robust stakeholder management and engagement skills
- Comfortable presenting to a wide variety of audiences
- Knowledge of project management methodologies
- Strong time management and prioritization skills
- Strong writing skills and the ability to draft clear, professional communications

What experience we prefer

- Graduate degree in a field relevant to the job function such as social work, sociology, equity, human rights, health policy/administration, public policy/administration, or equivalent.
