We’re hiring for a full-time Project Manager in our Halifax, NS office. The Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing and supervising engineering projects under various programs to meet the strategic goals of Nova Aerospace Structures Ltd and to ensure all projects are delivered on time and on budget. The Project Manager is also responsible for managing and protecting all project data from the company and client to optimize project workflows, meet certification standards and deliver accurate results.

We use classical analysis, finite element analysis, 3D modeling capabilities to design and analyze aircraft interiors, structures, and products for clients across North America. Our core engineering team has centuries of combined technical experience in the aerospace industry and has worked all over the world.

**About You**
You have an engineering degree and have been managing engineering projects for 10+ years. You have strong communication skills while working with a remote team of engineers and project stakeholders. You are familiar with aircraft analysis and have technical engineering experience in the aerospace industry or a similar design/analysis environment.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, aerospace or mechanical preferred
- Entrepreneurship knowledge or experience is an asset
Experience
- 10+ years of project management experience working with diverse teams
- 5+ years of management experience in an engineering environment or similar
- Experience working with aircraft primary structure repairs considered an asset
- Experience managing in a remote work environment is an asset
- Experience working in a small business is an asset
Other Requirements
- Must speak, read and write fluently in English
- French as a second language is an asset
- A valid driver’s license and evidence of insurability must be maintained
- Able to meet the requirements of the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and other government security clearances as required
**What You’ll Do**
- Project Sales and Estimation_
- Assist the sales team with project estimating and costing
- Participate in project handover from Sales
Project Management
- Prepare project opening and closing documents (e.g. checklists, punch lists, etc.)
- Receive, verify and manage client data on internal servers in accordance with company polices and certifications
- Set up projects in company systems and manages project documentation
- Review project requirements with stakeholders to adequately resource projects
- Develop and manage detailed project plans and schedules
- Assign project tasks and leads the project kick-off meeting
- Provide project team with appropriate access to files and reference information
- Update project documentation including estimates, scopes, schedules, and status reports
- Identifying project risks and developing appropriate mitigating actions
- Identify scope changes and request change orders in advance of performing work
- Manage change orders and associated updates to budget and schedule
- Ensure deliverables are finalized, protected and distributed to clients in accordance with company policies and certifications
- Coordinate with client to ensure deficiencies and revisions are dealt with promptly
- Participate in post-mortem technical review and management review meetings as required

- Monitor and review timesheets for payroll purposes
- Track project hours and costs for proper billing to client
- General_
- Develop and maintain relationships with staff, clients, contractors and vendors
- Assist with setting up and using company software (i.e. internal servers and PM software)
- Create and update processes, procedures, checklists, and other documentation
- Attend regular status meetings, daily updates, and other meetings as requested
- Travel internationally to client sites, as required
