**Do you have a keen eye for detail and a passion for supporting both customers and suppliers? **We're looking for an **Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable (AR/AP) Specialist** to join us at Thinkific.
As an AR/AP Specialist, you will be an integral member of our fast-paced Finance team, contributing to the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end processes. Your work will have a huge impact on our ability to report with accuracy and effectiveness while also ensuring we're maintaining strong relationships with vendors and Thinkific Creators. You'll also have the autonomy to constantly seek out and implement opportunities to improve the way we work. Reporting to the Controller, you'll partner with other members of the Finance team and collaborate with other departments as needed.
**Your goal will be to provide exceptional service to our customers, vendors, and team of Thinkers by owning the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes for Thinkific. **Here's how you'll accomplish this**:
- Working out of our accounting system (Workday), you'll set up new suppliers, maintain the list of existing suppliers, and enter supplier invoices
- Prepare and submit payment runs for supplier invoices and employee expense reports in the accounting system
- Reconcile incoming payments to open invoices in the accounting system on a weekly basis
- Track incoming payments and liaise with the our Billing team and Account Executives to efficiently address customer inquiries
- Monitor aged accounts receivable on a weekly basis by exporting system reports to identify overdue amounts, then proactively reach out to customers to facilitate payment
- Assist with the monthly cheque deposits process (requires a semi-monthly visit to Thinkific HQ in Vancouver)
**The person we have in mind likely**:
- Has at least 2 years of experience working in bookkeeping or Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable
- Communicates effectively and is comfortable building & maintaining relationships, as you'll own all AR/AP communications internally and externally
- Is organized and attentive to detail. They can manage multiple priorities without missing a beat (or even a decimal)
- Thinks critically and can solve problems creatively and independently
- Isn't satisfied with the status quo—building efficiencies and process improvements is second nature
- Loves to learn and grow. They've found (and keep looking for) ways to level up their skills in this field, whether that's through formal education, gaining professional experience, or maybe even building their own business
**These things would also be nice, but we think you could learn them on the job**:
- Familiarity with Workday Financials, the software our team uses
- Experience with a software as a service (SaaS) company, especially if it's been on the Accounts Receivable side
**What you can expect if you join Thinkific**:
- An amazing team of talented, passionate, and kind Thinkers. Together, we've built an amazing culture—we're one of the Best Workplaces in Canada and a Top Small & Medium Employer
- The chance to build, improve, and innovate on a platform that's driving positive impact—we already support 50,000+ active creators in over 165 countries.
- A competitive compensation package. This includes your base salary, equity, and an Employee Share Purchase Plan, on top of some great perks.
- Comprehensive benefits starting on Day 1. We have health, vision, and dental coverage for you and your family, plus $3000 for mental health care and a health or personal spending account.
- A flexible work environment—choose to work from home, at our Vancouver HQ, a co-working space, or anywhere there's wifi for a change of scenery.
- An open vacation policy and flexible work environment. Our team takes a minimum of 4 weeks vacation each year and makes work fit into their lives (not the other way around).
- Career growth. We put an emphasis on your development with our annual Learn and Grow fund, training, mentorship, coaching, and internal promotion opportunities.
- A home office setup. You'll be ready to succeed with a company-owned Macbook Pro and a budget to get a desk, chair, or any accessories to help you work comfortably and productively.
