Our Que Pasa Foods facility, located in Delta, is expanding, and is looking for a Quality Technician to join our mid-shift team. The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for ensuring that all products manufactured are in accordance with internal, regulatory and customer quality management systems.
**Schedule**
- Morning Shift Hours: from 6:30 AM - 2:30 PM
- 5 days a week
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Monitor product safety and quality, production process and personnel GMP practice to ensure the compliance to established procedures (SOP’s), standards and requirements.
- Perform production line Quality Assurance functions as required.
- Liaise with other departmental management to meet food safety and quality compliance and provide assistance to other departments as needed or requested.
- Conduct tests and analysis of food products.
- Plan and co-ordinate all third-party lab testing activities.
- Operating the laboratory equipment and performing regular maintenance, as required.
- Performing biological, microbiological and biochemical tests and laboratory analyses in support of the established standards and systems to ensure that finished products fall within the company requirements.
- Perform incoming inspections and analysis of raw materials and packaging in accordance with established quality standards and systems.
- Hold all raw materials, WIP and finished products that fail to meet the established standards as per HOLD and RELEASE procedure and seek and finalize disposition on held items.
- Prepare, document and assist in evaluating internal audit findings and implement corrective actions.
- Collect and compile statistical quality data and assist in developing and modifying quality assurance policies, procedures as well as production parameters
- Analyze food production data and prepare reports and trend analysis
- Performing process checks throughout the entire production process including pre-operational checks, sanitation verification and label checks.
- Be knowledgeable of what safety equipment is needed to perform a specific job task.
- Ensure all parameters are recorded with documentation during research and development runs. Develop, recommend and monitor corrective and preventative actions.
- Attend and participate in production transition meetings and Quality Assurance meetings
- Other duties as assigned
**Qualifications and Requirements**
- Preferred 1 year experience in quality control in a food processing environment
- Working knowledge of food safety and QA programs such as SQF, HACCP and GMPs
- A team approach to problem solving and implementation, as well as personal initiative and independent judgement are necessary
- Strong aptitude for assisting in implementing new testing methodology and high-tech testing equipment
- Basic math skills required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
- Well-developed interpersonal skills
