An **Art Director **at 500 Degrees plays a key role in the visual concepts and development of merchandising, marketing, and promotional communications in support of our big brand, industry-leading clients. We want someone to think conceptually, take direction and defend their work, bring contagious energy, and maintain
consistency of the art. The **Art Director **will understand that killing ideas is just as important to this job as developing the concept. They are confident in their abilities and believe in the work they produce and can represent the consumer's perspective.
All creatives at 500° are designers at heart and will be expected to execute design work as needed. As an
**Art Director** make amazing happen and push the creative. We want someone who can connect with production, design, and finish projects that engage people and make them react.
**What You'll Do**:
- Provide creative direction and thought leadership to the design team; Conceptualize and oversee
the development of visual elements that convey the desired message and meet client objectives
- Oversee multiple projects at once, ensuring deadlines are met and the creative vision is
maintained throughout the project
- Keep abreast of industry trends, design innovations, and emerging technologies; Recognize
market trends, customer-centric design, and the competitive landscape
- Present creative concepts to clients with confidence and clarity, effectively communicating the
rationale behind design decisions and addressing client feedback; Strong presentation skills. Like
really strong, the ability to convey a concept quickly
- Will work off of client creative briefs to come up with new design concepts and strategies; Will
also be expected to look beyond the brief when necessary to independently problem-solve
- Ensure brand consistency across all design deliverables, adhering to brand guidelines and
maintaining agency quality standards
- Utilize strategic insights to inform creative concepts and translate into visual design
- Collaborate and communicate design concepts with the internal creative team to build a culture
of innovation, excellence, and accountability
- Review all key project deliverables and all creative briefs to ensure correct level of project
aspiration and accountability
- Develop creative ideas, concepts, campaigns, and insights that will drive exceptional work
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior members of the creative team, fostering a positive
and collaborative team environment
**What You'll Need**:
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field preferred; and/or equivalent
work experience
- 6+ years of experience within an advertising/marketing agency environment
- Strong knowledge of Adobe CS and Keynote (you’ll be creating presentations)
- QSR/food photography experience is a huge plus
- Strong influence on the creative process
- A deep understanding of the shopper mindset and path-to-purchase across multiple advertising
channels
- Must have a portfolio of projects across print and digital - motion graphics a plus
- Must possess a mastery of typography, color, shape, and design - illustration is a plus
- Knowledge of the production process, including proofing
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Strong presentation skills; Must have direct client experience
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and move quickly if needed
- Animation, motion graphic, or video creation skills are a strong plus
**Physical & Travel Requirements**:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes high-pressure environment
- Stamina to handle extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking
- Availability to travel up to 20-25% of the year, as needed, to client locations, industry events, or
other relevant destinations
