**Position Summary**

The **Program Support Worker** provides direct support to children, youth, and adults with developmental, emotional, and behavioral needs in our day program and community-based settings. Reporting to the Program Coordinator, this role focuses on **assisting clients in daily living activities, recreational programming, and skill development** while fostering a supportive, safe, and engaging environment.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide hands-on support in areas such as personal care, life skills, recreation, and community participation.
- Assist in the planning and delivery of daily activities and outings.
- Support clients in achieving their individual goals and promote independence wherever possible.
- Encourage and model positive social interactions, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and respectful program environment.
- Collaborate with program staff, families, and caregivers to ensure consistent support.
- Document client progress, attendance, and any incidents in an accurate and timely manner.
- Assist in crisis prevention and intervention as needed, following agency protocols.
- Promote the dignity, rights, and well-being of all participants.

**Qualifications (Must-Have)**
- College Diploma or University Degree in **Developmental Services, Social Work, Child & Youth Care, or a related field** (or equivalent experience).
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health needs, or behavioral challenges.
- **Valid Ontario G Driver’s License** with access to a reliable vehicle.
- **Current First Aid & CPR certification.**:

- **Clear Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC).**:

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport.
- Patience, empathy, and adaptability in a variety of situations.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Training in **Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI)**

**Assets (Preferred but not Required)**
- Familiarity with **American Sign Language (ASL).**:

- Knowledge of trauma-informed care, behavioral support strategies, and person-centered planning.
- Experience in recreational programming or community engagement activities.

**Other Requirements**
- Flexibility to work **evenings**or **weekends** as needed
- Physical ability to assist with activities and provide direct client support as needed.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $21.86-$28.86 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 40 per week
