Financial Controller

The following is a list of the primary job duties and responsibilities:
- Actively engaged in all daily account transaction processing with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
- Supervise daily accounting, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Conduct internal audits to evaluate financial integrity and the effectiveness of internal controls.
- Manage the timely and accurate filing of government tax returns (HST/GST/PST, corporate tax, etc.).
- Oversee payroll processes to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Perform account reconciliations and financial analyses to support accurate reporting.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks and LoneWolf(ERP) to maintain financial records.
- Maintain well-organized documentation to support audit readiness and compliance.
- Stay informed of updates in accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and accepted accounting principles.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to provide insights and support data-driven decision-making.
- Lead and support various finance-related projects.
- Collaborate with internal teams on process improvements, special projects, and staff training.
- Attend necessary meetings and provide regular updates to stakeholders on financial performance and efficiencies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation.
- 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the Real Estate industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks & ERP systems.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis.
- Proficient in Google Workspace; ability to learn internal systems.
- Solid understanding of financial auditing and account reconciliation.
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
