**Hours**: Monday to Friday:
Niagara Energy Products (NEP) is a heavy manufacturer serving the nuclear, oil and gas, and general heavy fabrication industries. Our largest clients are the nuclear power generation plant operators across Canada. Our clients have come to trust Niagara Energy Products as a premier designer and manufacturer of nuclear waste containers to the highest global standards. We are certified to the Canadian nuclear quality codes CSA N285.0, N299.2 and CWB 47.1. Niagara Energy Products is the leader in the field of manufacturing radiation shielded containment vessels for nuclear contaminated waste and spent used nuclear fuel.

This is an independent role within our organization as the successful incumbent and one direct report will make up the entire Accounting Department.

Success will be measured by the efficiency and accuracy in reporting, interpretation, and communication of financial data.

**In this position, you will**
- Take Niagara Energy Products(NEP) to the next level through your knowledge, skills and financial management expertise
- Have the ability to identify strategic opportunities
- Bring solutions to the table by recommending and/or performing actions to resolve discrepancies
- Lead the company in compliance with all government legislation related to payroll and maintain all related employee and company records as required
- **Process bi-weekly payroll** with excellent knowledge of legislative payroll requirements and payroll accounting for 100+ employees in multiple locations
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements
- Post journal entries
- Balance sheets
- P&L statements
- Balance and reconciliation of all general ledger accounts
- Prepare miscellaneous financial and labour reports as may be required by management
- Take the lead on all financial audits and assist other departments with customer audits and in addition, work with auditors on annual audited statements
- Process RRSP deductions, TD1, TD1ON
- Be responsible for all accounts payable/accounts receivable
- Reconcile and prepare T4s
- Monitor cash flow, daily bank reconciliation and substantial invoice payments to ensure cash is available and distributed as required
- Prepare HST, EHT, and WSIB remittances

**What you will bring to NEP**
- An Accounting designation (CPA, CGA, CMA) is required.
- Experience processing payroll through ADP Workforce Now is required. 2 years
- Experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment is required. 5 years
- Experience in cost accounting is required. 5 years
- Knowledge and skills in preparing monthly financial statements. 5 years
- Previous experience in Microsoft Navision (MS NAV) 3 years
- Knowledge of Canadian GAAP
- A strong sense of discretion and confidentiality
- The ability to work well independently and support various levels of leadership, management and departments
- Meticulous record keeping skills and strong attention to detail
- Outstanding organizational skills
- A strong work ethic, diligence, and commitment
- A proven track record of strong problem solving skills
- The ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment with the ability to meet tight deadlines and complete multiple assignment
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Valid driver’s licence for daily bank deposits and there may be some travel to our facilities in Fort Erie and Brantford.
