Science World is a mission-based, charitable organization that supports the development of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Design and Math) literacy across British Columbia. Our mission is **_to ignite wonder and empower dreams through science and nature_** and our purpose is **_Science for All. _**
Our new 5-year strategy seeks to revitalize Science World with a substantial, $80M, 5-year capital plan to replace critical infrastructure and transform the visitor experience as well as develop new content across all our channels under the current themes of _Regeneration, Human Health, and Inclusion. _We are striving to ensure people throughout British Columbia, especially under-represented communities, have access to high quality, informal STEAM learning. Through our onsite, online and outreach programs, Science World seeks to spark that curiosity and wonder in STEAM and support the development of talent across all communities in the province.

**Position Description**
The Vice President, Experience & Product Development provides overall direction and leadership in the experience, programming, and product portfolio of Science World. You will play a pivotal role in driving the vision, strategy, and innovation for our science centre. Your primary responsibility will be to enhance the overall visitor experience, develop captivating, inclusive exhibits, and programming, and oversee product development initiatives in keeping with our mission to _ignite wonder and empower dreams through science and nature._ You will thrive in creating unique, awe-inspiring, leading-edge exhibits, content and programming that keeps members and visitors coming back time and time again to Science World and that drive revenue to power our Purpose and Mission. You are someone that can focus product and content development on experiences that excite and drive revenue but are also true to the science underlying them. You will lead a talented team of professionals, collaborating with cross-functional departments to create an engaging and educational environment that fosters curiosity, exploration, and learning for all visitors.
As part of the Senior Leadership Team, the Vice President will work closely with their colleagues to implement and manage the strategic direction of Science World, ensuring time and energy is spent at the strategic level, risk and innovation are balanced and current and future needs of the organization are addressed and anticipated. This role collaborates very closely with the Development team so that our fundraising can be effective in supporting Science World’s mission. The Vice President will also be responsible for overseeing the development and management of annual operating budgets insuring collectively the ongoing financial sustainability of the organization. **Strategy, Vision, and Leadership**
- Contribute to the development of Science World’s strategic goals and objectives as well as the overall management of the organization
- Translate an organizational wide Strategic Plan into tactics within your area that deliver the purpose, mission, and financial goals of the organization
- Develop a clear and compelling vision for Science World's experience, exhibits, programming, and product offerings. Align the content strategy with the organization's mission and long-term goals
- Ensure that Science World is adhering to the strategic plan, delivering status reports to the SLT and board on KPI’s
- Maintain continuous lines of communication, keeping the President & CEO informed of all critical issues
- Working with the CEO and the Executive Team, serve as the Executive strategic lead for our three areas of content themes**:_Regeneration of the Planet, Human Health, _**and
- Stay abreast of emerging trends, best practices, and advancements in the science centre field, using this knowledge to drive continuous improvement and innovation
- Cultivate relationships with external interest holders, including educational institutions, research organizations, and industry leaders, to foster partnerships and explore collaborative opportunities
