**Position Summary**

The **Medical Office Assistant (MOA)** provides administrative and clerical support to physicians, nurse practitioners and other healthcare providers to ensure efficient clinic operations and an exceptional patient experience. This role requires professionalism, discretion, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, patient-focused environment.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Greet, register, and assist patients in a courteous and professional manner to creating a welcoming environment.
- Schedule and confirm appointments, manage patient flow, and maintain electronic medical records (EMR)
- Manage multi-line phone systems. Handle incoming calls, correspondence, and patient inquiries
- Prepare, maintain, and organize patient files and documentation in compliance with privacy standards (HIPA)
- Support clinical staff with administrative tasks, referrals, and coordination of care
- Ensure confidentiality and adherence to clinic policies and procedures

**Qualifications**

**Education**:

- Completion of a recognized **Medical Office Assistant program** or equivalent combination of education and experience

**Experience**:

- Previous experience in a medical or clinical setting preferred
- Knowledge of EMR systems (e.g., Accuro, Med Access, GoodX etc) considered an asset

**Skills and Abilities**:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health record systems
- Demonstrated commitment to patient confidentiality, safety, and quality improvement.
- Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Epic or Dentrix.
- Strong knowledge of Medical terminology relevant to clinical documentation.
- Experience as a Medical Clinic Receptionist or in a Hospital or Health Centre setting is preferred.
- Prior Medical Office experience demonstrating familiarity with front desk operations.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment.
- Exceptional communication skills for interacting professionally with patients and staff.
- Ability to operate multi-line phone systems efficiently.
- Office experience including administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and scheduling.
