We have articulated a multi-year ESG strategy and implementation framework that supports our company's strategic vision and purpose and we are looking for an in-house resource to help lead us in the implementation and evolution of our ESG strategy. We are looking for an energetic, entrepreneurial ESG professional who brings prior experience developing and operationalizing ESG strategy and originating an ESG program from the ground up at a growing, dynamic business. This opportunity will report into the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer. **Key Responsibilities**: This is a new role with a broad mandate whose responsibilities will grow over time. In the near term, the expectation of the role is to: - Proactively provide oversight and implementation of the company's sustainability commitments in partnership with business lines and support functions - Advise on strategies for strengthening ESG data, analytics and tools to support investment decisions, monitoring and reporting of ESG metrics and best practices - Research, explore, manage and lead new sustainability opportunities / trials that align with corporate vision and goals - Develop customized ESG disclosure and operations roadmaps for the business units that address the increasing expectations of stakeholders, including investors and regulatory bodies - Develop an internal centre of excellence for advisory consultation, leadership and management to client divisions within Fengate regarding topics relating to corporate responsibility, sustainability, responsible investment and ESG - Periodically 'pulse-check' the industry and evaluate, develop and evolve ESG strategy, objectives and tactical plans **Requirements**: **Key Qualifications**: - University degree with specific experience in business, engineering, environmental studies/science, governance, community relations, supply chain or human rights. Post-graduate degree (MBA or related field) is beneficial. - 5 to 7 years of experience in fundamental equity investment and/or sustainability-related professional experiences, preferably with direct consulting experience or experience leading corporate transformation specific to corporate sustainability/ESG reporting, sustainable investing and environmental sustainability. - Strong understanding of global sustainability standards and frameworks related to Infrastructure, Private Equity and Real Estate and experience with global reporting frameworks like UNPRI and GRESB. - Familiarity with corporate governance and risk management systems, including corporate risk registers that include considerations of environmental impacts and value chain impacts. - Strong relationship-building skills and ability to navigate complexity, influence and build consensus. **Core Fengate Competencies**: - **Business Focus and Strategic Thinking**:You display an understanding of Fengate's as well as the investment project's business and strategy.
