**Job Description**:
What you’ll be doing

As AVP, ESG Strategy and Disclosure, you will be responsible for leading the evolution and implementation of CIBC’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy, disclosure framework and oversee related regulatory changes. The Enterprise ESG Team is responsible for developing, coordinating and overseeing the bank-wide ESG strategy, governance framework, reporting and disclosures, and acting as a hub of expertise. The AVP will help differentiate CIBC in the ESG space with strategic planning and best practices in ESG program management, impact measurement and disclosure while working with the CIBC leadership team to ensure that our global teams are aligned and prepared to support fast-paced industry and/or regulatory changes.

How you’ll succeed

ESG Strategy- Manage the continuous evolution and implementation of CIBC’s ESG strategy to ensure that CIBC is actively working towards its commitments.- Provide active and visible leadership in supporting the successful execution and integration of enterprise-wide ESG strategic priorities.- Identify and enable ESG best practices embedded across the Bank, in partnership with other business units and functional groups.-
- Manage the review of reputational risk issues and provide recommendations.- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key decision makers and stakeholders to champion and ensure alignment of CIBC’s ESG strategy.- Take an active lead role in representing CIBC at sustainability associations, industry working groups, task forces and relevant events.

ESG Reporting, Disclosure Framework and Impact Measurement- Lead the development of CIBC’s external disclosure strategy and supervise all ESG disclosure reporting to ensure that our messaging is consistent and accurate.- Keep abreast of and evaluate emerging trends and the latest developments that relate to ESG disclosure international standards.- Lead the continuous enhancement of CIBC’s ESG disclosure framework and the controls that underpin relevant disclosure activities.- Oversee and strategize CIBC’s ESG impact measurement strategy and continuous assess the development of metrics to ensure effective disclosure and impact measurement.- Monitor and proactively respond to standard-setting and regulatory developments that may have an impact on CIBC’s ESG disclosure with a strategic mindset.- Oversee CIBC’s response to ESG Rating and Ranking assessments, current and prospective client ESG requests, ESG award and recognition.- Lead or supervise the engagement with internal and external stakeholders to support enhanced governance over ESG-related reporting, including CIBC’s Sustainability Report, TCFD Report, Annual Report, etc.- Provide effective and constructive challenge through disclosure reviews and drive consistency across CIBC’s ESG-related external disclosures.

Team Management and Relationship Management- Lead the Enterprise ESG Strategy, Disclosure & Impact Measurement Team to ensure successful delivery of key business priorities.- Contribute to budget planning, provide resource planning recommendations, and prepare status reports for Senior Executives.- Partner across the enterprise to advance CIBC’s ESG Strategy.
