**The opportunity**

Manulife Financial is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manager to lead our ESG initiative. Reporting directly to the Director of Procurement, you will play a crucial role in the department's journey towards a mature and sustainable, best-in-class, Sustainable Procurement. Your responsibilities will contribute to achieving the department's priorities, including change management, a refined operating model, expanded reporting, enhanced engagement with partners, and mature communication efforts positioning Manulife as an industry leader in the ESG space.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and implement the overall strategy for the ESG initiatives, collaborating with internal teams.
- Manage the program success by way of measurement and reporting, data platform enhancements and research services. to the development and publication of ESG reports, including collecting data, material metrics, and consolidating information requests.
- Collect, manage, and submit content to key ESG rating firms, tracking score progress.
- Lead client engagements and account management for services relating ESG disclosure, sustainability programs, reporting, and research.
- Collaborate with key internal teams on relevant data and target setting for ESG goals, such as Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), Supplier Diversity and Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)
- Create guidelines, checklists, policies, procedures, and other related program content, to align with best practice and frameworks, and enhance programs.
- Develop ESG language for 3rd party contracts and RFP templates.
- Conduct benchmarking, follow trends, and provide best practices for ESG disclosures.
- Lead or provide advisory support in professional design and layout of reports and communications in collaboration with the Data/Analytics team to contribute to comprehensive reporting decks, capturing data points for ESG goals.
- Represent Manulife at industry events and conferences.

**What we are looking for**
- Business degree in Marketing, Environmental Science, Communications, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in leading and driving ESG program.
- Knowledge of ESG frameworks, reporting standards, regulatory regulations, and ESG trends.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and collaborators.
- Creative and innovative mindset, digitally savvy.
- Results-driven with strong project management, analytical, and data management skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and PowerPoint
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize. Other duties as required.
