YMCA Camping and Outdoor Education offers outdoor experiences that foster personal growth and build community. After taking part in our programs, children and youth return home more confident, independent, and with new friendships. YMCA Camp Pine Crest is an overnight camp serving children, families, and organizations through naturally focused programs that embody the mission, vision, and outcomes of the YMCA. Camp Pine Crest is made up of 650 acres of Muskoka wilderness surrounded by 3 interconnected lakes with 8km of shoreline; has over 26km of hiking trails and 7,500 sq. ft. of dock and has 60 buildings.

The Driver’s position is essential for the safe transportation of participants and staff to out-trip locations. Responsibilities include coordinating with the Out-Tripping Director for scheduling, working with the Facilities Manager on vehicle maintenance, and building connections with campers, staff, and community partners. As role models, Drivers embody YMCA values and adhere to camp guidelines and policies. This position also involves driving a 15-passenger van with participants and towing a fully loaded trailer with canoe trip gear, ensuring that all equipment is securely tied down for safe travel, ultimately enriching the camp experience through reliable support and service.

**In this role, you will**:

- Transport participants and staff with their equipment to the starting point and retrieve them upon completion of the out-trip
- Coordinate with the Out-Tripping Director and Assistant Directors to ensure that all drives are scheduled properly in advance of departure
- Collaborate with the Facilities Manager to ensure proper vehicle maintenance
- Build relationships with members, staff, volunteers, and community partners
- Act as a positive role model for all participants and fellow staff by embodying the values of the YMCA and following all YMCA camp guidelines, policies, procedures, and Ontario Camps Association guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned

**You bring**:

- Standard First Aid and CPR-C by the first day of the contract or equivalent experience
- F-Class Driver's license
- Minimum 25 years of age
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and adapt to change
- Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience driving with a canoe trailer is preferred Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work in a team environment and independently to achieve optimal collective results
- Well-developed interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish rapport and communicate effectively with members, staff, and volunteers
- Ability to provide mentorship and guidance to both inexperienced and seasoned staff
- Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays
- Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and building a sense of belonging
