Established in 2004, we provide compassionate care and support to individuals and their families during their end-of-life journey, including community programs and a residential hospice.

**Summary**

The Food Services Assistant is responsible for supporting the daily operations and food service delivery at Maison Albert House, Hospice SENB’s residential hospice. This role helps ensure that residents are provided with nourishing, comforting meals in a warm and welcoming environment. The Food Services Assistant works collaboratively with staff and volunteers to support the unique dietary needs and preferences of individuals at the end-of-life. In addition to hands-on food preparation, this role includes supporting kitchen operations, volunteers, and compliance with health and safety regulations.

**Responsibilities**
- Prepare, assemble, and serve homestyle meals according to planned menus and dietary requirements.
- Ensure timely delivery of meals to resident rooms and serve in a courteous and respectful manner.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-functioning kitchen environment.
- Ensure safe food handling practices and compliance with public health regulations.
- Ensure proper cleaning and sanitization of all kitchen equipment and surfaces, complete cleaning checklist and report concerns to Food Services Coordinator.
- Collaborate with Food Services Coordinator and clinical team to ensure meals are aligned with residents needs and care plans.
- Communicate regularly with residents and family members regarding food preferences and special requests.
- Support and work with a diverse team of kitchen volunteers fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere for volunteers.

**Requirements**:

- Culinary training from a college or trade school or equivalent experience in a food service or kitchen environment is an asset.
- Experience preparing meals for small groups in a healthcare, hospice, or community setting is an asset.
- Experience working with volunteers is preferred.
- Excellent cooking and food presentation skills.
- Strong understanding of nutrition, food safety, and sanitation practices.
- Strong leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Commitment to the mission and values of Hospice SENB.
- Fluency in both English & French a strong asset.
- Ability to stand, bend, work on your feet for extended periods, and lift items up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and flexible hours as needed.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 30 per week
