**Frequentis Canada **is looking for a dynamic individual to join our well-established team of about 60 people as Controller. As part of our management team, you will be responsible for all aspects of financial management including accounting functions, financial and cash flow management, budgeting, and audit processes, with a direct reporting line to our President. You will work closely with all departments in the organisation to ensure all aspects of budgets and internal controls are met. Therefore, business trips to Vienna, Austria are planned during onboarding and occasionally to ensure a smooth collaboration with colleagues in HQ.
The position is based in **Gatineau, Quebec, Canada** and is open to Canadian Citizens, Canadian Permanent Residents and Foreign Workers that hold a valid Canadian Work Permit.
**Key Tasks**:
- Responsible for the day-to-day financial and accounting topics for Frequentis Canada, including cash-flow management and overseeing bi-weekly payroll processing
- Close integration with Vienna headquarters for various monthly, quarterly and annual reports
- Ensuring compliance with federal and provincial legislation and IFRS
- Supervising and mentoring two direct reports
- Facilitating the local financial audit and liaising with tax consultants, corporate insurance brokers and government agencies (Canada Revenue Agency, CNESST, Revenue Quebec, etc.)
- Preparation and presentation of project evaluations (projects, products, sales projects, scenarios)
- Management reports, business plans, balance sheets reports, forecasts including analysis of deviations
- Presentations of the above-mentioned reports according to target audience
- Relationship management with internal and external stakeholders
- University degree in finance, accounting, business administration or a related field
- CGA/CMA/CA designation would be considered an asset
- 10+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience, 3+ years of management experience
- Managerial skills required to navigate a matrix organization with an European parent company
- High leadership and organizational skills
- Capacity for teamwork
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Analytical, strategic, and entrepreneurial thinking
- Hands-on mentality
- In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices with knowledge of IFRS (15 and 16)
- Strong working knowledge of SAP & SAP BW
- Experience with Ontario and Quebec payroll requirements
- PCP and PLP considered an asset
- Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables
- Project management experience would be considered an asset
- Fluently bilingual French/English
