**Opportunity**:
This individual must be willing and able to travel occasionally throughout Alberta and motivated to work in a fast-paced, exciting and fun environment. The location of this position is Edmonton, requiring consistent connections to other EAS offices, and continuous collaboration with multiple team members and communities.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Managing the day-to-day financial operations including processing grant funds, expense claim forms and financial summaries, reconciling accounts and posting transactions;
- Accurate processing of and record keeping for accounts payable and accounts receivable, bank and general ledger reconciliations, and payroll processing;
- Supporting events including registration, communication, invoicing, receipts and reporting;
- Attending and keeping records of staff and partner meetings including occasional minute creation/transcription;
- General office administration, including, but not limited to greeting partners, answering phones, packing for events and booking travel arrangements;
- Inventory and online store management;
- Quarterly financial reporting to board of directors;
- Ongoing liaison with accounting firm and preparation of fiscal year-end for annual audit;
- Preparation and filing of corporate documents, maintaining compliance with financial regulations;
- Ensuring compliance with privacy regulations;
- Managing organization accounts such as insurance and telephone;
- Working closely with other professional staff to coordinate and co-lead initiatives as required; and
- Supporting EAS in the overall work of advancing healthy school communities.
**Qualifications and Experience**:
- Financial management coursework or certification required. Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field preferred. A combination of education and experience may be considered;
- A minimum of 3 years administrative and bookkeeping experience and a clear criminal record check. Experience in non-profit settings considered an asset;
- Strong interpersonal skills demonstrated by the ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team atmosphere;
- Strong planning, organization, communication (oral and written) and customer service skills;
- Demonstrate a high attention to detail;
- Be self-directed, motivated, and willing to learn new skills as needed;
- Demonstrate a commitment to wellness, health, and active living as an essential component of quality education;
- Be willing and able to travel evenings and weekends on occasion to attend key meetings and events; and
- An understanding of wellness (health promotion) or education-related work is an asset.
- Bilingual in both written and spoken French and English is an asset.
