RABCON Contractors is seeking a Safety Coordinator to join our Health and Safety Team, new grads or co-Oo students are welcome to apply

This position is mainly located in our corporate offices in Whitchurch-Stouffville. It will also require visits as required to various sites around Toronto and the GTA.

The ideal applicant will have prior clerical support experience, records maintenance experience, and a background in general administrative support. An understanding of Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety Act is an asset. A degree in Occupational Health and Safety is preferred.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Provides administrative support for Health and Safety Manager
- Maintain safety schedules and agendas, including important events, meetings and or safety related deadlines
- Take and maintain JHSC Meeting, Management Meeting and all safety department meeting minutes, action items, and followup with employees outstanding documentation.
- Maintains, updates and reviews company safety data-base and learning management software (HARNESS)
- Responsible for maintenance and overall accuracy of safety training records, including paper files
- Editing, revision, tracking of changes to documentation and policies or documents relating to OHSMS
- Prepares analysis and communications such as spread sheets, tables, charts, and presentations in relation to safety, security, and workers compensation
- Inspections, site correspondence, site visits for the purpose of conducting investigations, issuing safety talks, advising on best practices or other tasks as needed
- Maintains, updates, and delivers safety documents, policies and procedures as required
- Compose correspondence to company personnel and external agencies as required
- Answers phones and refers calls to appropriate personnel or provides requested information
- Supports confidentiality related to environmental, safety, and security issues
- Aid with Annual COR Audit submissions and annual OHSMS Annual Review
- Performs other duties as assigned or required
- Promote a positive culture of health and safety in the workplace

- Ability to follow instructions, provide support as required to support the Health and Safety Manager
- Flexible with ability to respond to fluctuating patterns of demand at work which can be unpredictable and unplanned, requiring constant shifts in priority
- Appreciation and understanding of confidentiality requirements
- Attention to detail to identify inconsistencies in documents such as reports & documents
- Ability to self-manage and self-motivate; ability to work independently, take initiative and willingly accept responsibility
- Ability to work under pressure and deadlines
- Ability to work in an environment of ambiguity

**Education and Work Experience**
- 1-3 years safety support or related administrative experience required
- Degree or Certificate in Office Administration and/or Occupational Health and Safety
- Proven Office 365 experience - Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook
- This position involves intermediate to advanced Excel and Power Point file creation and task management
- Data base administration - Ability to learn Online HARNESS System
- Knowledge of construction, particularly in heavy civil construction is preferred
- COR Audit experience is preferred
- Site experience is an asset

**Job Types**: Internship / Co-op, Full-time, Part-time, Seasonal

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
