Estimating Co-op

The **Estimating Co-op **will be responsible to compile and review estimating information for various types of contract under the guidance and direction of the Jr and Sr Estimator.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Review tenders, specifications, and drawings to create quantity take-offs and assist in the preparation and submission of bids/estimates/proposals with other estimators.
- Coordinate with clients to identify and define the scope of project, requirements, objectives, and schedule in order to provide an accurate estimate for the work.
- Update the estimating tracking sheet (bid log) as well as create new document folders for new inquiry information.
- Update the estimating data base which includes all new inquiries, estimated work, and post award follow-up details and information.
- Download, organize and maintain all project related documentation from various web portals, public procurement platforms or customer requests.
- Obtain and review quotations from various vendors/suppliers, and sub-contractors.
- Maintain and update a current list of vendors/suppliers, sub-contractors, and general contractors.
- Participate in weekly estimating review meetings to go over all upcoming projects that require estimates with the President and Estimators.

**Qualifications/Skills**:

- Currently enrolled in a Post-Secondary Education program in Civil Engineering/Technology, Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Management or proven related field experience.
- Basic ability to read and interpret specifications, drawings, and tenders for various types of construction projects.
- Must have strong leadership, communication, organization, time management, scheduling, negotiations, problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently as well as in team environments.
- Proficient computer skills - MS Excel /Word /Outlook /Project /Share Point, and Bluebeam.
- Adaptable to flexible work schedule when required to meet deadlines.
- Must have a clean driving record and a valid G driver’s license.
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a similar role, previous work as a project coordinator/manager or estimator is an asset.
