As an **EHS Specialist**, you will contribute to the development, implementation, and maintenance of programs and procedures necessary to ensure the overall environment, health, and safety performance of the facility.

You will report to the Plant Manager. Come join the PPG team

**Key Responsibilities**
- Conduct daily safety and environmental audits, along with informal walkthroughs on the production floor for general safety questions, ideas, and to ensure compliance.
- Participate in accident investigation process and weekly action items updates.
- Participate in reviews of the environmental health and safety policies and procedures.
- Recommend improvements in processes, design, procedures or operating equipment, to minimize EHS impact.
- Solve routine problems of limited scope and complexity following established policies and procedures.
- Responsible for low to moderately complex technical work in a wide range of environmental, health and safety disciplines under direct supervision to achieve compliance with PPG's EHS standards and regulatory requirements.
- Work with operations supervisors to ensure competency and compliance with incidents and action items.
- Maintain safety and compliance metrics throughout organization and support plant safety and compliance actions through ongoing meetings, audits, trainings, and process changes.
- Update the weekly safety toolbox talks and safety boards.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**
- 4-year bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, sustainability, environmental science, or other related degree program.
- 1+ year of safety and compliance experience, manufacturing or lab environment preferred.
- Working knowledge of Federal/State regulatory requirements (OSHA, DOT, EPA); Familiarity with chemical safety and hygiene preferred.
- Ability to be hands-on and communicate with all levels of an organization; Good public speaking skills.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
