We are currently seeking **Dispatcher** to join our team in our **Leduc Terminal**.
**Position**:Dispatcher
**Type**: Full-time
**Location**: Leduc, AB
**Pay**:Commensurate with education and experience
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Receive and process work requests from customers
- Schedule and dispatch workers, work crews, equipment, or service vehicles to appropriate locations according to requests, specifications, and/or needs with the goal to book the timeliest service possible
- Identify and evaluate any special needs for each load to determine the best delivery methods, delivers items to customers by verifying orders; inventorying stock; arranging transportation and ensure all is performed with compliance to all Federal and Provincial regulations and laws
- Provide accurate directions to relevant staff for services required
- Relay work orders, messages, and information to or from work crews, supervisors, and safety technicians
- Advise personnel about traffic problems such as construction areas, accidents, congestion, weather conditions, and other hazards
- Monitor personnel and/or equipment locations and utilization in order to coordinate service and schedules
- Arrange for necessary repairs in order to restore service and schedules
- Manage a real-time transportation database
- Adhere to corporate and departmental policies and procedures
- Performs other duties as required
**Qualifications**
- Transportation industry knowledge and experience required (eg: permit and legislated requirements)
- Experience with over dimensional and heavy loads required
- Computer Literate
- Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
- Able to work well under pressure
- Flexible, able to deal with change
- Strong attention to detail
- Very organized, with excellent multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent customer service/communication skills
