**JOB SUMMARY**

The Maintenance Technician Level 1 is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the hotel grounds. This includes ensuring that the grounds are clean, well-kept, and presentable at all times. This position is responsible for assisting as needed with maintenance department projects, as well as conducting landscaping tasks.

**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**

  • Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the hotel grounds and facilities at all times.
  • Mow the lawn, trim the hedges, reseed the lawn, rake the leaves, fertilize the turf.
  • Keep walkways clear of snow, hazards and debris at all times while assisting in parking lot maintenance and snow clearing.
  • Perform daily pre operation inspection checklists of all equipment and vehicles used and file in shop.
  • Operate all site vehicles in a safe manner following the INN Hotels vehicle use policy.
  • Set up and break down event spaces as needed.
  • Ensure and guarantee the working and upkeep of tools and machines used in the ground’s maintenance process.
  • Assist other members of the team and other departments to provide the greatest productivity of the maintenance department and hotel.
  • Clean all trash and debris from the grounds.
  • Respond to guest requests, assisting with questions, and addressing any issues or complaints while maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Completing shuttle runs to bring staff to and from work/staff accommodation.
  • Other tasks as assigned by management.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

  • Possess the necessary physical abilities to use ladders, crouch, and climb in order to perform manual labour and carry out repairs.
  • Pool Operatior Level 1 is a **strong** asset

**REQUIREMENTS**

  • A valid BC drivers license is **mandatory **for this role.
  • Must be able to produce a clean drivers abstract upon hiring.
  • Ability to lift, pull, and push up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to operate basic landscaping equipment.
  • Knowledge of basic lawn care and groundskeeping.
  • Experience as a groundskeeper or maintenance in similar role is considered a strong asset.
  • Valid First Aid certification is an asset.
