Never Alone Cancer Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by cancer. We are a small passionate organization with a great volunteer base and an engaged Board of Directors. Our mission is to provide emotional, financial, and informational support to patients, families and caregivers affected by cancer.

**Profile**

Reports to the Executive Director, the Development Officer is responsible for the management and execution of the Foundation’s community development activities, including events, sponsorships, grants, and donor stewardship.

This position is ideal for someone who is dynamic, enthusiastic and would love to put their mark on building fundraising capacity for an organization without a formal program in place.

The Development Officer will deliver and enhance the existing event fundraising strategy, recruit new sponsors, build lasting relationships with donors, and keep them informed on how their philanthropy makes a significant difference in the lives of those impacted by cancer.

The successful applicant should have proven experience as a fundraising and event specialist, with several years of experience in a charitable organization or similar environment. The Development Officer must be motivated, be able to solve complex problems and have a proven track record in securing major donations and building fundraising capacity.

**Position Overview**
- Identifies major gift opportunities, as well as developing proposal packages.
- Identifies grant opportunities through research and the completion of grant
- Assists with the planning and execution of the Foundation’s events (3 major yearly events). This includes working with committees, coordinating event logistics and securing prize donations etc.
- Overseeing donor stewardship - helping to grow sponsorships and donor relationships.
- CRM implementation
- Foster a culture of philanthropy and ensure that all fund development practices are executed in keeping with the Foundation’s values, vision, and mission.
- Provide reports to the Executive Director on agreed key performance indicators including annual fundraising targets.
- Perform other duties and functions as required.

**Qualifications**
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar or related role.
- Proven experience managing successful fund development programs.
- Ability to understand the needs and interests of major gift donors to secure philanthropic contributions.
- Proven success developing and managing events, project management and logistic experience.
- Strong interpersonal, decision-making and leadership skills.
- Experience working with volunteers and committees in the planning and execution of events.
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal with proven examples.
- Experience working with outside suppliers such as rental equipment companies, caterers, etc.
- CFRE designation considered an asset.

**Compensation**

Never Alone Cancer Foundation offers a competitive salary, benefit structure, and a flexible work environment. The salary range is $50,000 - $58,000 per year based on experience and qualifications.
