**Innovation and Fund Development Specialist**

**Position Summary**

Under the direction and supervision of the Executive Director, the Innovation and Fund Development Specialist will be responsible for implementing a fund development strategy which will include planning and implementing special campaigns, and securing a diverse portfolio of revenue sources for the AMC.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead fundraising initiatives and other special campaigns such as capital, major gifts, and endowment campaigns;
- Collaborate across all departments to implement the necessary steps to secure new and innovative funding sources;
- Conduct research in order to identify new and innovative options to secure funding outside of Government sources;
- Develop and implement annual strategy for securing a diverse portfolio of revenue sources;
- Supports the Executive Director in accomplishing the goals of the AMC’s Strategic Plan with the ultimate goal of increasing and diversifying the organization’s revenue streams and implementing partnership programs that help build awareness of the AMC and the agenda of the AMC Grand Chief that supports the agenda of First Nations in Manitoba;
- Conduct regular external analysis of the social, political, and legislative environments to guide fund development strategy and evaluate their effect on the AMC’s fundraising capabilities;
- Work closely with the AMC’s finance and communications teams to determine needs, collaboratively set goals for revenue targets and external support, and problem solve;
- Maintain a strong network of corporate contacts;
- Maintain continual contact and relationships with external funders and legislative bodies, responding to relevant inquiries as required;
- Collaborate with the communications team for the purpose of accessing and vetting all internal and external communications;
- Contribute to the total effectiveness of the finance and communications teams, communicating openly, solving problems, offering creative ideas and working as a positive, engaged team member;
- Maintain continual contact with all AMC departments to keep a flow of up-to-date activities, information and news;
- Other duties as required.

**Education & Experience**
- Minimum of 3-5 five years’ experience in fundraising, or an undergraduate degree in economic development or finance;
- Experience in business sales, public relations, marketing, fundraising, or other pertinent discipline;
- Excellent command of the English language;
- Superior ability to write clearly and succinctly within tight deadlines, and adaptable to changing priorities, and projects;
- Strong research and analytical skills;
- Clear understanding of target audiences, and appreciation for the mission of the AMC;
- A good grasp of the external media both Indigenous and non-Indigenous;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work co-operatively as a part of an interdisciplinary team of professionals;
- Exceptional donor/client communication skills;
- Demonstrated ability in strategic planning and project management skills;
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with mínimal supervision;
- Experience working with First Nations or First Nations organization in Manitoba or other regions;
- Knowledge of the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs, traditional First Nation philosophy, and contemporary practices;
- Knowledge and understanding of the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs, and of First Nations and First Nations organizations in Manitoba;
- Must be proficient in computer programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint);
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime when needed;
- Adhere to AMC policies, and procedures with specific attention to attendance, and professional ethics; and
- Must be able to work flexible hours, possess a valid Class 5F Driver’s License and a reliable vehicle.
