**Title**: Fire Inspector and Technician
**Location**: Toronto, ON
**Responsibilities**:
- Conduct detailed inspections of fire safety systems in commercial and residential buildings to ensure compliance with local fire codes and regulations.
- Install, service, and repair fire safety equipment including sprinkler systems, fire alarms, extinguishers, and emergency lighting.
- Interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications to assess fire protection system requirements and to ensure proper installation and functionality.
- Perform routine maintenance and certify fire protection systems, documenting actions and maintaining records for safety audits.
- Investigate and resolve any issues or malfunctions, providing technical support and advice to ensure the highest standards of fire safety.
- Educate property owners on fire safety practices and system operations, promoting a culture of safety.
**Skills**:
- In-depth knowledge of fire safety codes and the ability to identify hazards and enforce compliance.
- Proficiency in the installation, inspection, and maintenance of various fire safety systems.
- Adept in reading and interpreting complex blueprints and technical documents.
- Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting and diagnosing system faults.
- Excellent organizational skills to maintain inspection schedules and documentation.
**Qualifications**:
- Certification as a Fire Protection Technician or equivalent.
- Experience in fire inspection and system maintenance is preferred.
- Familiarity with local, state, and national fire codes and regulations.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for on-site inspections.
**Physical Requirements**:
- Capable of performing physically demanding tasks such as climbing ladders, lifting equipment, and working in confined spaces.
**Work Conditions**:
- Willingness to be on-call for emergencies and perform after-hours work as required.
