Position Summary **Applicants must have**: A Secondary School Graduation Diploma Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Powerpoint Excellent keyboarding skills Minimum typing 40 words per minute Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills Excellent organizational skills Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team Flexibility and a positive attitude Ability to multi-task Outstanding written and oral communication skills Willingness to acquire skills in Board specific programs e.g. Trillium, IREN 1-4 years of recent working experience in an office environment Availability to accept assignments on a casual basis during the day and with short notice Preference will be given to applicants with prior secretarial experience in an educational setting **Experience in the following areas would be an asset**: Bookkeeping and budget skills Familiarity with School Board regulations/policies and procedures Reception/Switchboard Ability to adapt to changing and different environments A valid drivers license First Aid Certification ALL new employees will be required to submit a current original criminal background check (CBC) including a "Vulnerable Sector Screening" (VSS) issued within 6 months prior to commencing employment with the Board.
