Consider this new role with the Ministry of Education, in the Provincial and Demonstration Schools Branch. As the Clinical Manager, you will lead a team that delivers psychological and clinical services to students.

The Provincial and Demonstration Schools Branch (PDSB) is a centre of excellence that directly operates four provincial schools and three demonstration schools, which offer the Ontario curriculum at the elementary and secondary levels, as well as specialized integrated programming, for students who are Deaf, Blind or Deafblind or have learning disabilities.

Located in south central and eastern Ontario, these schools provide individualized education with appropriate resources, giving students with special learning needs the opportunity to participate fully in the total school experience, including sports, recreational and leadership opportunities.

What can I expect to do in this role?

**In this role, you will**:
plan, implement and manage clinical and health services for a spectrum of students with a variety of exceptionalities, enrolled in the school sites; and supervise ethical and responsible practices related to all aspects of clinical care, assessment, consultation and intervention services.
contribute to the establishment of system medical, psychological, and other clinical programs, policies, practices and procedures.
provide leadership to a team of staff in the provision of medical, psychological and other clinical services, and ensure effective administration of case management procedures.
provide professional expertise in the resolution of escalated cases, including support in addressing traumatic events and crises in schools.

How do I qualify?

Mandatory

Master's degree (or equivalent) in a Health Profession such as Psychology, Health Care, Medical Services, or Social Work
You must understand the ASL community and culture
Fluency in ASL is preferred

**Leadership Skills**:

You have experience motivating and inspiring staff to achieve results in a rapidly changing environment
You have excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills along with a strong sense of political acuity to deal with a variety of sensitive issues

**Professional knowledge and expertise**:
**You have**:
knowledge of clinical and social psychology, including specialization in theories applicable to school-aged youth
knowledge of diagnostics and experience providing psychological assessment, crisis response, consultation, and intervention services
an understanding of the elementary and secondary education system within Ontario
experience working effectively with children and families
knowledge of Learning Disabled, Deaf, Blind/low vision and Deafblind youth and their psychological, social and educational development
knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g. consent to treatment, care and retention of records, Health Disciplines Act, Mental Health Act, privacy legislation) to ensure programs, services and interventions are in compliance and ethical

**Communication Skills**:
You demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with staff, parents, teachers, and other professionals to provide clinical expertise and advice, and discuss issues and programs

**Salary Range**: $90,348 - $136,530 Per Year
