Valard Construction LP is Canada’s premier power line contractor, serving clients in both public & private sectors. We offer construction services in overhead and underground transmission and distribution systems, substations, fiber optics, as well as substation and transmission foundations.

Valard Construction LP is seeking a Foreman for our sister company TC Infrastructure. Under the direction of the Division Manager the Foreman position is responsible for leading / coordinating work crew(s) in site construction of underground shallow utilities in new residential subdivisions, safely & efficiently

**Requirements**:
**Objective**

The position is responsible for operating trackhoe and backhoe equipment, excavating trench 1.5m deep for new shallow underground utilities in residential subdivisions

**Responsibilities**

Operate equipment in a safe and appropriate manor

Complete daily equipment inspection forms

Participate in daily Safety Meetings and Hazard Assessments

Participate in daily work planning schedules

Be aware of proper rigging equipment and procedures

Have a sound understanding of issues relating to ground disturbance

Ensure all excavations meet OH&S requirements, i.e: valid locates, spoil pile location, etc.

Work with and ground crew to ensure a safe and damage free work site

Assist ground crew in duties, as necessary

Maintain good housekeeping practices

Administering company standards, policies, procedures and other regulatory requirements

Other duties as assigned

**Qualification Profile**:
Minimum 2-years’ experience operating trackhoe

Strong team player with a positive attitude

Effective problem solver and communicator

Must have a valid Class-5 driver’s license
