Position Summary
The cook is responsible for preparing assigned food items by methods/procedures such as roasting, frying, grilling, steaming, poaching, boiling, baking and pre-preparation of food. Production sheets are followed for quantities and recipes followed as per patient menu. Additional duties for catering items are also required at times.

**Qualifications**:

- Grade 12 Secondary School Diploma required.
- Completion of an approved cook’s course from a Community College and/or apprenticeship

required.
- Journeyman’s Cook Certificate required.
- Three (3) to five (5) years experience in quantity food production required.
- Knowledge of operation of production equipment required.
- Experience in an institutional food service environment preferred.
- Demonstrated strong communication skills in English both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and multi task efficiently.
- Demonstrated responsibility to health and safety and food preparation guidelines.
- Demonstrates commitment to continued professional and personal growth and development
